Information About Cathay Pacific

American Roy C Farrell and Australian H de Kantzow founded Cathay Pacific Airways on 24 September 1946. Roy C Farrell and H de Kantzow, who were living in Shanghai at that time, moved to Hong Kong and founded this airline company. Initially, flights were operated to Manila, Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai. It didn't take long for the airline company to expand, and in 1948 it acquired a 45% share in Butterfield x Swire (also known as the Swire Group), one of Hong Kong's leading trading companies. Butterfield x Swire, led by John Kidston Swire, became fully responsible for the management of the airline. Cathay Pacific Airways, headquartered at Hong Kong International Airport, made a record profit of HK$5 billion in 2000. But in the following years, Cathay Pacific Airways faced major challenges, including the September 11 terrorist attacks, a second Gulf War and SARS. After September 11, it started to make a name for itself with 10,000 free flight tickets and We Love Hong Kong and We Love Hong Kong campaigns. Cathay Pacific Group, including Dragonair and Air Hong Kong, currently operates more than 150 flights to 130 different destinations around the world. Increasing its recognition day by day as one of Hong Kong's leading international airline companies, 30 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in the fleet of Cathay Pacific Airways were modernized and maintained until 2012. These investments enabled the airline to increase its ultra-long-haul flights and gain significant advantages in terms of fuel efficiency. New cabin designs were added to the entire medium and long-haul aircraft fleet, and interior products were also renewed. Cathay Pacific Airways, which has managed to offer a unique flight experience to First, Business and Economy Class classes at the same time thanks to its new cabins, continues to take the concept of air travel to completely new levels. In addition, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong's air cargo hub company, started to generate a lot of income from this sector with the new Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal opened in mid-2011. This facility, which cost 4.8 billion Hong Kong Dollars, has become a center where 2.6 million tons of cargo is transported annually. The company, which has made great efforts to strengthen its flight network, managed to add 20 more flights to the total number of flights per week compared to 2008. The company, which has recently focused on flights to Chennai and India, has created new flight routes with Dragonair's excellent connections in Asia. Cathay Pacific Airways is an international airline offering cargo and passenger service to more than 110 destinations around the world. Cathay Pacific Airways continues to make significant investments to develop Hong Kong's aviation industry and contribute to Hong Kong's path to becoming a regional transportation hub. In addition to its fleet, Cathay Pacific Airways also attaches great importance to catering, aircraft maintenance and ground services. Cathay Pacific Airways' subsidiaries and affiliates collectively employ more than 20,000 people in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Ltd. provides scheduled flight services in the Asian region. The vision of Cathay Pacific Airways, a major shareholder of the company, is to be the best airline in the world: “Being the best means always being superior in everything we do. “Our dynamic team provides the highest level of quality service that makes our customers happy to choose Cathay Pacific.” You can visit oBilet to view Cathay Pacific Airways' flight schedules on a single page and compare prices with other companies.
