Kotraba Alaçatı

The nickname of our grandfather who came from Kavala-Kınalı Village (Kokinohom) in 1924 with the exchange is “Kotraba”. They are villagers, they continue their lives dependent on the land. For this reason, they settle in Alaçatı with their farming materials, tobacco processing tools and animals at that time. “Kotraba” is a nickname used to mean someone who produces good tobacco and is hardworking. The land where our hotel is currently located was given to our grandfather Kotraba as a settlement right at that time.

We, as the son and grandsons of Kotraba Hasan, established this business with the aim of keeping these memories alive, sharing them and thanking our grandfathers for these lands. The greens inspired by the fresh state of tobacco and the colors and textures reflecting its dry state, resulting from “Kotraba”, took its current form with an architectural concept understanding that respects the traditional Alaçatı architecture but interprets it for the present day. We used natural materials such as stone, wood, hazeran, wicker and jute in dedication to the memories of this family that made a living from the land and tobacco.

We have tried to offer our guests a calm and peaceful resting environment in our high-ceilinged, spacious rooms where the sweet wind and sun of Alaçatı seep in. We are waiting for you for pleasant conversations, new friendships and memories in our courtyard.
