Information About Air Chathams

Air Chathams is an airline based in Chatham Islands, New Zealand, founded in 1984. It operates scheduled passenger services between the Chatham Islands and New Zealand, as well as routes between Auckland and Whakatāne and Auckland and Whanganui. Its main base is Chatham Islands-Tuuta Airport. Founded by Craig and Marion Emeny, the airline makes it easier for both freight and people to travel to and from New Zealand. As the freight and passenger markets developed, Air Chathams evolved from operating small piston-engine aircraft to large 50-seat twin-engine turboprop aircraft. In 2014, Air Chathams established a flight operations and maintenance base at Auckland International Airport. At this base, the company provides maintenance services both internally and to third-party airlines under contract. Air Chathams began operating the Auckland to Whakatāne route on 29 April 2015, Auckland to Whanganui on 31 July 2016 and Auckland to Kapiti Coast from 20 August 2018. April 2019 Air Chathams announced they would be taking over a fourth Air NZ route, launching a weekly service from Auckland to Norfolk Island on 6 September 2019. Serving a total of 9 destinations, Air Chathams currently has 11 aircraft in its fleet. You can visit oBilet to buy Air Chathams flight tickets.
